I’m the Japanese guide behind Joyful Japan Journey, based in Kyoto. I guide in English and German, and I love sharing the stories behind the places we visit.

Prices are per paying guest, not per group. Children aged 4 and under are free; maximum 6 guests including children.

Normally 9:00 am. An 8:00 am start is available on selected dates to help avoid the crowds.

Good to know before you book

  • Private tours from 1 paying guest. Groups are never combined.
  • Up to 6 guests in total, including children. Children aged 4 and under join free.
  • Payment is in advance. You receive a confirmation email after successful payment.
  • Transport costs and admission fees are charged separately. These often total approximately USD 5-25 per person per tour, although prices may vary from year to year.
  • We use public transport during the tours. Depending on the circumstances, we may suggest taking a taxi.
  • There will be a lunch break during each tour. Food and drinks are at your own expense.

Cancellation policy

For each tour, a full refund is available if you notify us at least 48 hours before its scheduled start time.
Cancellations received less than 48 hours before the start time are non-refundable.

The deadline is based on the tour start time in Japan. Please contact me on WhatsApp to cancel.

Wir hatten eine tolle Tour durch Kyōto mit unserem Reiseführer Yuta. Dank seiner hervorragenden Deutschkenntnisse konnten wir die spannende Geschichte Kyōtos und die Bedeutung der vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten sehr gut verstehen. Er hat alles verständlich, interessant und mit viel Hintergrundwissen erklärt. Besonders angenehm war seine ruhige, lockere und freundliche Art.
